Over The Handlebars..
Mood:  spacey

Whew..10+ days later and it still hurts! I live in Clovis CA now but spent the better part of 1991-2005 living in Farmington NM...Home of the famous Glade Mountain Bike Course and the Road Apple Ralley And when I took a trip home to NM in May 2006 I was excited to take a spin with my Dad and sister on the coarse! After coming off Kinsey..past the Windmill Cutoff and the Road Apple trail back to the Aztec-LaPlata road.See Here We then took the first BIG drop in the roller coaster and my cleat came out of the clip near the top..but made it down and over the roll at the bottom without incident. The second BIG drop was made without a problem. we then crossed the Flora Vista road and started on the lower roller coaster..I was making the final drop befor the climb back up to Kinsey's..and I rolled off the hill kind of fast. I didn't see the roll (or hump) in the trail at the bottom of the hill. My back tire flew out behind me and I was in a slow-motion-airborne-crash. I flew about 30 feet from the hump in the trail to the point of impact. I landed on my right shoulder and it still hurts like heck 10 days later. I didn't think I separated or dislocated my shoulder..but now I'm not so sure. It kinda feels like something is not "as it was" before the crash. Being between jobs and without health insurance I haven't wanted to go to the doc..btw the road rash on my right knee is healing quite nicely. also my Wife, sons and parents will note that this isn't the first time I've ridden off the road apple all bloodied
